DESCRIPTION:Parachute Players is a North King County-based performance group dedicated to producing immersive\, multi-sensory theatrical experiences for the very young and young people with disabilities with the foundational assumption that ALL young people need and deserve equitable access to quality arts experiences. Their performance model is based on very low actor to audience member ratios\, incorporating visual schedules\, social stories\, some ASL\, and other physical and sensory accommodations\, and always providing multiple means of engagement. Parachute Players is led by Director Maddie Napel\, under the fiscal sponsorship and mentorship of Dandylyon Drama. \nParachute Players’ Polka Dots is a sensory theatre experience for young audiences with disabilities and their teachers\, families\, and caretakers. This 50 minute adventure premiered in May 2019 at the Edwin Pratt Early Learning Center in Shoreline to outstanding reviews from young people\, parents\, guardians\, and educators. \n“Really great idea and we can’t wait to come to another show. The Black Box theater #4107 is located on the lower level of the #4000 Library & Media Center building. \nMatilda knows what it feels like to not fit in: being curious\, honest\, and eager to learn are not values her parents and brother care a thing about. To get her out of their hair (literally) they send her to a school run by Miss (The) Trunchbull\, a cruel authoritarian that loathes children. Matilda helps her school friends overcome their fears and befriends her school teacher\, Miss Honey\, who recognizes her genius. Together they make lots of changes to the status quo. This play adaption of Roald Dahl’s beloved book will delight the whole family!

To get her out of their hair (literally) they send her to a school run by Miss (The) Trunchbull\, a cruel authoritarian that loathes children. Matilda helps her school friends overcome their fears and befriends her school teacher\, Miss Honey\, who recognizes her genius. Together they make lots of changes to the status quo.
