CAPE | Creative Adaptive Performance Ensemble
We are a community of adult performers with disabilities, committed to artistic excellence, who create and perform our own original stories. We tackle all elements of performance— conceiving of our own characters, writing our own scripts, creating our own costumes, sets, and props, and mastering our blocking and choreography. Our teaching artists and mentors support us in our growth. They believe in us, we believe in ourselves, and we believe in one another.
Our program is offered in a hybrid format to ensure accessibility for our out-of-town members, those who prefer online, and those without reliable transportation.

Join one of our Creative Adaptive Performance Ensemble camps! In our inclusive and predictable environment, performers will spend the week exploring our theme “Choose Your Own Adventure” as we create an original play with experienced Teaching Artists. What people say!
Miss Maddie and Mr. Matty are wonderful and we love how adept they are at teaching all the kids. They bring out the best in all the kids.”

You have a beautiful way of handling the entire class and make everyone feel valued and included. I appreciate how you have a visual schedule, and how you go over the ‘rules’, at the beginning of each class. I love listening in on how you encourage each and every student. The way you help those that want to read a part, but maybe can’t do it so well in real-time. The way you give the shy student time to respond, allowing for the stage fright, or maybe just technical zoom issues. You my dear, are amazing!”
